Kimberly Bianca esitlus Kunstnike Majas

2 minutit

Teisipäeval, 12. juunil kl 13.00 toimub Pärnu Kunstnike Maja galeriis kohtumine austraalia kunstniku Kimberley Biancaga.

Biancal on käsil projekt, mille käigus ta läheb jalgsi Tallinnast Polymeri Kultuuritehasest Riiga Totaldobže kunstikeskusse. Mõlemad need on omaalgatuslikud kunstikeskused, kus Bianca on eelmisel aastal residentuuris olnud. Oma projektiga soovib ta juhtida tähelepanu omaalgatuslike kunstiprojektide ühiskondlikule positsiooni(tuse)le ja (mitte)rahastamisele.

Täpsem info allpool inglise keeles.

Optimum Biomechanical System is a multi-faceted research project, endurance performance, and metaphorical statement on the current view of  cultural activity.

The biomechanics of the artists organism on such a journey is symbolic of the effort going into initiatives that nevertheless continue to be under looked, denied support and lack cultural recognition.

Kimberley was involved with these two cultural centres as artist-in-resident and guest performer in 2011. Alike many other arts initiatives and non-profit organisations involved with for the last 8 years, she has developed immense appreciation and interest in how they  communally operate, often without funding, and yet be crucial hubs of ecology and socially active artistic culture.

By pushing her body and mind out of the everyday system Kimberley will record spoken word, imagery and document from an unconfined perspective and bring new inspiration to these cultural initiatives and their audiences. The project aims to generate interest and awareness of these initiatives.

Post-journey Kimberley will do performance-presentations of the material gathered globally as she continues on her journey-life.
